Mrs. Sturm's PreK Class Happenings

It has been a very exciting year in the new Pre-K program so far! We have been learning lots of new and wonderful things; such as the alphabet, reading, counting, and completing several fun and educational projects!

In the fall, we learned all about Columbus Day. One of our classes also visited the Harvest Market and learned all about seeds, leaves, stems, and the food that we eat. We also got to pick out pumpkins for Halloween, and have the traditional doughnuts and cider. Then, it was time for our Halloween party. The kids dressed up, and participated in a parade through out the school to show off their costumes. There were some scary, some sweet, and lots of super heroes! We were very busy getting ready for Christmas. Everyday was filled with a flurry of activity; such as painting, making crafts, and of course counting down the days until Santa comes!

There is lots of enthusiasm in the air as we continue to work our way through the Scott Foresman Reading program, learning some basic concepts of reading. We are also continuing our count down to the 100th day of school; and are anticipating the party we will have that day for counting to 100. It has been a busy year and we are looking forward to more!
